Just love this little corner.  It's always cool with the gentle jingle of the wind chimes and a trickle of water Aanndd it's right under my kitchen window so it has the added smell of brewing coffee!!!  The perfect place for a little bit of hooky while watching the birds bath!

Last Sunday we were blessed with the very rare occasion of a rainy day!! Yep, it's true!! We did!!!  It rained on and off all day.
So we watched some DVD's and I started a new project while Miss Molly treated me to a wonderful and relaxing pedicure.

Just look how many granny squares I made..!!

All made from leftovers from previous projects but I think I'm gonna have to go and buy some more!!! Yippee!!!  I love it !!!
So I'm off now.  Hope you're keeping warm, cosy and flue FREE up there in the north and cool and fresh down in the south

A Beautiful January

What a beautiful time it is in my garden.  It's a green, flowery paradise.

Sorry, not wonderful photo's but I think you can see what I mean.  It's a spectacular display of colour and a wonderfully happy sight during these last months of very hot and dry weather.

I am almost finished with my WIP and will post it soon.

Mother nature puts on her show

Hello there!!!

A very special hello to Heather at +my little red suitcase!!!!  Soooooo nice to hear from you!!!  CLEARLY, you are my first blogger friend (apart from family and friends) to leave a comment on my blog.  I know there are many friends out there who visit my blog, but it's so exciting to actually have someone leave a message for you!!! So go on!! Do it!! Leave a message and you can be sure that I will be sooooo very pleased and grateful to hear from you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

Today I would like to show you some amazing photo's of sunsets and thunderstorms we've had this past week, but sadly we haven't really had good follow up rain since 11 December 2012, even though in some of these photo's, it looks so very promising!!  Almost every single day the weather teases us with thunder and lightning, the skies transforming with beautiful dark rain clouds and the smell of wet earth being carried on the wind from somewhere, far away, a show like only mother nature herself can put on, and then, nothing, it's all just a tease!!!!!!!

 (I'm still learning all about photography, so please bear with me!!)

And then there are the most beautiful  sunsets you will ever see!!!

Hi there all my friends!!

I just love this photo a friend send to us this morning!!  Calm!!!!! Sooo would love to be at the sea right now!!!!!!!!  Living in the desert can really make you miss it so much.  In my minds eye, I can actually see, hear and smell the sea.  Ah, wonderful!!!

I would like to wish you and your loved ones a Very Happy 2013 and may this year be the best year of your life, filled with laughter and joy and may all your dreams come true!!!  May it be creative and full of colour, flowers, good food, good times with family and friends, good fortune, loads of love and loads of blessings from above and may we all learn to appreciate what we already have!!

 And then there were rescues......

    a Barn Owl came down the chimney....

A Kingfisher had a lucky escape from the cats...

 A huge python was rescued and found a new home on the farm....

and so did Cinderella..... Now retired and never will she be pulling a cart again.

There was the drought.....

                    Sandstorms.....

inside a sand storm......

              
And then the rain came and our barren land was transformed.....

                       

.... and paradise had returned once more!!!!!!


Stolen property was recovered, with many grateful prayers!!!!

My sweet dear daughter, Miss Molly, turned 21....
Just a small gathering at home with family & friends....

Can't believe she's 21 already!!!!!

2012 was also the year I taught myself to                   crochet and now I  can't stop!!!  Really!!. I am totally addicted!!              

3 blankets, 3 bags, 2 hats, 3 headbands, a scarf, and various other makes.... LOVE IT!!!! Thank you to all my blogger friends for your inspiring blogs and patterns!!!!

In May 2012 we lost our dear friend, Jacques, and only 1 month later his son, Juan, died when a tornado struck the house he was in.  Eight months later and we still mourn their untimely deaths!!!

R.I.P.  We really miss you, Jacques!

Hubby also gave us a few horrifying  moments in 2012....
1. Attacked by a lion.    2. A burst appendix.   3.  A really nasty 2nd degree burn on his hand.  4.  A cracked rib (from falling off his motorbike)  5.  Tick-bite fever.   6.  A stomach ulcer.  
And I am so happy to say he survived it all and is as strong as an ox once again.  But please hubby, you are nearing 60 and your body is trying to tell you to slow down now, please!!!!!!!
